2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.
Man! What a setup today! This razor and brush need no explanation. Both are terrific, and I use them a lot. MSC from South Africa is no joke. This is a killer soap base for straight razor shaving. It takes as much hydration as you want to give it and it has a silky, luxurious feel to it. It is similar but a little heavier to the feel of Zingari Man's Sego base. The scent of Bloom is a Black Orchid dupe, so I used the real thing for fragrance.
Master Soap Creations is fantastic. If I didn’t have so much other stuff, I would load up!
I am in the exact same situation you are. I have a lot of soaps. I intend to buy another MSC soap, as well as a couple WestMan Shaving soaps, because I like including soaps made outside the US. But I badly need to thin my soap collection.
I really like WestMan soaps too, but I'm in the same boat.
Do you have recommendations for WestMan?
I used Gerês this morning, which is a a nice fougère with a vetiver undercurrent. Utopia is an warm, amber and pipe tobacco scent. My seasonal favorite so far is Alma. The scent notes: Red Roses, Passion Fruit, Passion Flower, Musk, Cedar, Oud
Thanks for the recommendations! Those are the three that I have been weighing. I have several other great fougère scents so I did not want to start with Gerês, and I am seasonal with scents so Utopia (which, frankly, is a given) probably won't get used until the fall. My biggest question was about Alma. I like everything about that scent description but haven't seen (or paid attention) when anyone used it.
If nothing in the scent description for Alma is a turn off then I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
