Despite what a subset of its fans say - Star Trek is still putting out decent content, on average. We get 10 episode seasons now and the majority of it is fun adventures and when it tries to do social commentary it never takes as hard line as it used to. But at least in the shorter seasons there's less chance of a Threshold or a Subrosa. Maybe its just me but I could watch Lower Decks on rotation

Lower Decks is the best, and most faithful, Trek since TOS.

Fight me.

I could never get into TAS. That is probably more a character flaw than failing of the series. I just... I don't know. I guess I've just never much cared about cartoons that weren't Looney.

But you're probably right, considering who went into making them.
